Monday & Tuesday evenings 7pm-8.30pm (Hatha Yoga)

Wednesday Mornings  10.00am–11.30am (Restorative / Yin Yoga)

Redland Bay classes are for those who can commit to attending class regularly. Bookings are required as some classes are fully booked.

People turn too Yoga for many reasons. To relieve stress, gain flexibility, heal the body, or perhaps to improve their energy. You can use Yoga for all these purposes but apart from the purely physical effects Yoga is also designed to help you create a unique inner journey of self-development and growth.

The word Yoga originates from the Sanskrit word literally meaning ‘union’. The underlying purpose of Yoga is to not only create a flexible and balanced body but to also join in union the Infinite Self, Pure Consciousness, God, or whatever you call it, while quietening the mind. With regular practice of Yoga you can calm your mind, strengthen your body and allow your soul to shine brightly while creating more peace in your life.

Yoga classes are a mix of gentle therapeutic styles incorporating mainly Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasana Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, energy work and relaxation/meditation. In this way, you are able to stretch the body, increase your flexibility and also empower yourself with self-knowledge.

Yoga classes are composite in nature so that whether you are a beginner or an intermediate you can work to your own body’s ability and flexibility.

Classes are taught by Maia Martin who is a qualified and experienced Yoga teacher. Maia has a passion for helping those with ‘challenges’ within their bodies, as well as helping find centredness and balance in life.

YOGA CLASSES REDLAND BAY

Monday Evening

Course Info: 

Yoga classes consist of a centering meditation, which I talk you through, to allow you to relax and let go of the outside world.

Following that we perform some gentle muscle relaxing techniques to get the body and muscles activated. Yoga poses, in a flowing sequence, are then held for a few breathes so that your body, mind and soul go deep within.

Following this a gentle slow down pose is done to lead into a deep relaxation technique called Yoga Nidra. I talk you through Yoga Nidra which produces a feeling of deep relaxation and inner peace allowing integration of the mind, body and soul with the Yoga poses so that you go home feeling refreshed, peaceful, and relaxed.

When: Monday Evening

Time: 7pm-8.30pm

HATHA YOGA CLASSES REDLAND BAY

Tuesday Evening

RESTORATIVE / YIN YOGA CLASSES REDLAND BAY

Wednesday Morning

Course Info: 

Restorative / Yin Yoga classes are softer and more gentle so that you can easily drop into a state of peace and relaxation. It is as though the body, mind and soul can take a breath and chill.

There is a centering meditation technique at the beginning of class to allow you to let go of the outside world and take this time to nourish and centre yourself. Yoga poses follow with time for the body to open in its own way. There may be the use of bolsters, cushions, straps or blocks to help the body (and the mind) unwind.

Following this I will lead you into a deep relaxation technique called Yoga Nidra. This produces a feeling of relaxation and deep inner peace allowing integration of the mind, body and soul.

When: Wednesday Morning

Time: 10am-11.30am
